CALLING ALL DISNEY FANS

If you've been living under a rock then you won't know the amazing movie Tangled from Disney based on the fairy tale of Rapunzel. However, I have discovered recently that RAPUNZEL IS GETTING HER OWN TV SHOW AAHH!

This includes all the characters (besides Mother Gothel) from the original movie with a few new faces including friends and foes. The show is taken place before the short film Ever After and after the original movie.

I just finished watching the movie which can be considered the Pilot of the show. If you love Disney and the movie Tangled, I suggest you take the time to watch the movie cause it will leave you wanting more.

• Show will premiere on March 24, 2017 (IT'S SO SOON AAAAAHHH!)

• It has already been announced that there will be a second season

SO MANY EMOTIONS (Spoilers for SVTFOE season 2 finale)

If you haven't heard of Star vs The Forces of Evil (SVTFOE) then you've probably been living under a rock. Next to miraculous ladybug, SVTFOE has been a groundbreaking show for audiences in all ages.

Much like Steven Universe, SVTFOE has a unique plot with dry humor that is incomparable to a lot of shows on TV right now.

Summary: Star Butterfly is next in line for throne of Mewnie. However, she is not the picture perfect princess the people asked for. With concern, her parents send her to earth to learn some life lessons and how to use her powers correctly. Once on earth, she meets her future partner-in-crime, Marco Diaz. They live together and fight the forces of evil all the while still trying to go to school.

As of a couple weeks ago, season 2 of SVTFOE was aired and the finale was TOO MUCH FOR ANY FAN OF THE SHOW.

I👏 am👏  SHOOK. I wasn't expecting it AT ALL and my emotions are just ahsfdjklajf
I MEAN STAR CONFESSES TO MARCO THAT SHE LIKES HIM AND THEEEEN DECIDES TO LEAVE EARTH FOR GOOD!!! LIKE WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR HER TO CONFESS FOR TWO SEASONS AND YOU DECIDE TO FINALLY DO IT BUT YOU PROBS WON'T SEE HIM EVER AGAIN?!?!?! The episode just ends there with MARCO RUNNING AFTER HER TO FIND HER ROOM DISAPPEARING! I can't live right now, it's just too much for me.

I was so emotional (and still am), it didn't help that I had a lot of homework that night and cried even more. THE ENDING CREDITS DIDN'T HAVE THE USUAL SONG WHICH MADE ME EVEN MORE HEARTBROKEN! I can't really predict what will happen in season three since Daron Nefcy always surprises us but I know that we'll have to welcome back Toffee and hopefully there will be some bad-a** moves from Queen Moon (who proved she can kick butt when fighting Ludo/Toffee) *fingers crossed*

New Obsession

Being an otaku has it's ups and downs but when there are ups, everything is miraculous! Which leads me to my new obsession that has taken over my life, the new cartoon/anime show from France called 

Miraculous Ladybug 

This show came out about a year ago on December 6 and I wanted some way to celebrate the year anniversary by giving the show some much needed praise.  

If you don't already know, Miraculous: The Tale of Ladybug and Chat Noir are about two superheros who are greeted by their kwamis after they help an old man.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng, who is a clumsy middle schooler, is striving to be a fashion designer when she grows up and becomes the secret identity of Ladybug. 

Adrien Agreste, a rich supermodel, finally starts to go to school (which happens to be the same school as Marinette's) and becomes the face behind Chat Noir. 

They fight the akumas that are scattered to those with anger in the hearts by the evil Hawkmoth. Ladybug and Chat Noir don't know their identities under their masks which makes the show more enjoyable

There are many aspects about the show that make it all the more interesting
1. The love square
     Most are familiar with a love triangle when one person is in love with two people. HOWEVER, this show decided to put a new spin on that which created the idea of the love square. Here's how the square works:

Marinette is in love with Adrien who happens to be Chat Noir that is in love with Ladybug who is Marinette. They unconsciously like each other which makes the show all the more enjoyable.

2. The messages 
     Shows nowadays lack that subliminal message that kid shows used to have in the 90s and early on. Miraculous Ladybug really brings this back each time the duo fight an akuma. Marinette and Adrien go through struggles that are similar to the akuma that they fight and figure out the right decision in the end. It reminds me a lot of Powderpuff Girls or other Magical Girl shows. It was really refreshing when watching this show. 

3. Identifying with the characters
     Some of the characters in the show aren't relatable because of their outrageous and unrealistic behaviors. However, there are a few that you make a emotional connection with. 

First is Alya, she is a great friend and an obsessive superhero blogger. Her blog titled, "Ladyblog" definitely describes how most fans act nowadays. Blogs are becoming extinct but the way Alya fangirls and obsesses over Ladybug is one in the same with fans everywhere. 

Second is Marinette, OF COURSE we identify with the main character, that's the point of the main character. But, she is one that most girls in middle school understand. Remember having that crush that you just keep stammering in front of and can't seem to talk to? This is Marinette every time she's close to Adrien, have a crush on someone but don't know if they reciprocate your feelings? Marinette towards Adrien. Not only that but she always slips up and isn't perfect. Identifying with Marinette is not hard which makes this character all the more likable. 

I don't know why but this show really speaks to me, I can't believe that I didn't find this show until about two weeks ago. I'm so glad that the creators are making a season two ALONG WITH A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL COMING OUT ON DECEMBER 12TH!!!!
If you like what you see from what I explained then PLEASE go watch the show! It's easy to find a way to watch it online but I highly recommend supporting the show and buying the DVD. I hope this monthly new obsession post was to your liking! I'll see you next week!
